I am so proud to tell you that I am the Honorary Chair of a home furnishings auction on Wednesday, August 29th, at Lewis & Maese Antiques and Auctions, benefiting Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. Lewis & Maese will auction a staggering $1,000,000 of never-used furniture from a generous anonymous donor who chose Boys and Girls Country as the beneficiary. A few of the manufacturers represented in the auction are Brown Jordan, Christopher Guy, Julian Chichester, Hickory Chair, Ferguson Copeland and Century. It has been a wonderful experience to work with Lou Palma, Executive Director of Boys and Girls Country, and his development team Elaine Petranek and Ginny Hargrave, and I can’t say enough about the tireless owners of the auction house–Dave Lewis and Ernest Maese. The fundraisers are two-fold. On Thursday, August 23rd at
6:00 pm we will stage a Preview Party at the auction house, for a $20 per person fee, of which 100 percent will be contributed to the Boys and Girls Country. At that party you will get an up-close and personal look at the furnishings to be auctioned on Wednesday, August 29th at 6:30 pm. As an incentive for attending the party, there will be smalls–art d’objets, mirrors, lamps, and other interesting pieces– available for a pre-auction sale! I’ll keep you posted with details as the days and weeks go by, but you need to add these dates to your calendar. Also, if you are unable to attend the auction, you may bid online at www.liveauctioneers.com! Please let us hear from you on this all-important pair of events. Leave a reply! Classically yours, Bill
